progress sculpt by Munuci

I had been working on the thing in the first image a little while ago.. basically the latest thing I'd been working on and I hadn't really done anything else, buuuut I figured I'd go at it today and adjust it.. 'cuz it was looking slightly clownish. It also had bright purple eyes before these blue ones.

Second is a while of sculpting after the first one, and then the third one is prolly a little more adjusting and then a layer of paint on it. For example, the eyebrows are painted on, so is the eyeshadow and the shadow on the eyeballs.. and more.

I'm pretty exhausted now actually.. Zbrush frustrates the crap out of me but the result is pretty rewarding.

I need sleep.

I also have so much more improving to do and so much more stuff to try out
I wanted to make eyelashes but I couldn't manage it with the things I tried ;n;

I also need Zbrush friends. You use Zbrush? Be my friend. We'll rage together.
WIP sculpt / FINAL by Munuci
WIP sculpt / FINAL
Ssssso, this is /still/ a wip, but I think I'm going to stop here with this one, and start on a new thing.  It obviously still needs a lot of work - I've finally managed to find out how to actually color (I still need to figure out how to change material for just the eyes for example, and how to make the eyes look right, like actual eyes I mean) but maybe i'll get back to this later.

I also messed around with FiberMesh - which obviously, there's no hair here - but I could /not/ get around it, still can't, so that's for another time. Will probably just sculpt hair on top next time rather than go through the trouble of trying to control every strand of hair. It's rly hard mahn

anyway ya

Zbrush! Starting a new thang now
First proper try at Zbrush - WIP by Munuci
First proper try at Zbrush - WIP
I read some stuff, read the pixologic document majig about "Sculpting a head" and went from there - well, I basically just looked at what tools they were using (some kinda move brush + actual brush-brush, whatevs) and went from there lulz.

a) this is fun
b) I can't wait to get better

ALSO MADE A LITTLE VIDEO THANG for this, without the eyelid situation I've got going on tho, I did that after the video~

Hello :3 i just found your oooold post on forum from 2012 year, about missing SAI and about differences with after so many years can i ask what youre uusing? Because i want to swap instead of SAI start to use Photoshop but that ps is missing blending annoying;/

Hey! Yeah I can vaguely recall making a forum post like that, hehe.

But I'm currently using Photoshop; and I'm not bothered by missing blending tools anymore. Which, on one hand might be suckish when you're used to it, but on the other hand might turn out better for your artwork, since you have to blend going back and forth with colours until you get a smooth result. c: Other option is to use gaussian blur, but you don't have a lot of control over it like you would with a brush.

In the end you'll have to find out what works for you though, but photoshop is great once you get used to it!

Just to give you an idea of how blending and getting smooth transitions is possible, here's two of my more complicated and shaded things:… -…

Still slightly painterly, but of course it depends on what you like your work to look like 'n stuff, and adjust to that~

Oh I feel you, I went there, haha. I also recently started using Zbrush and the "have to learn a new program"-rage started all over again. It'll get better!  Llama Emoji-01 (Laughing) [V1]
